Ioana Alexandra Voda: The Story Gets More Time at IFOS Istanbul

Ioana Alexandra Voda, Senior ENT Physician, Doctor of Medical Sciences at Clinica Nova ORL, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”Apparently, someone heard me.

A few days ago, I wrote about my IFOS Istanbul challenge:

How do you turn a 30-minute scientific presentation into 7 minutes?

Well… I have just received some very good news.

My presentation on Rare Hematological Findings in Vestibular Medicine has been extended from 7 to 20 minutes.

And my presentation on specific vestibular rehabilitation strategies for bilateral areflexia and hyporeflexia of different etiologies will now have 30 minutes- Instructionsl Courses.

Was it LinkedIn?

Was it luck?

Or did the scientific committee simply realize that some stories need a little more time?

I have no idea.

But I am certainly not complaining!

Now I have enough time to explain the clinical reasoning behind the hematological findings — not thrombophilia , policitemia, anemia, histamine pathologies, as an isolated ’cause’, but the possible interaction between hematological/vascular vulnerability, associated factors and a trigger.

And enough time to explain why bilateral vestibular hypofunction is not one single condition — and why vestibular rehabilitation should therefore not be one-size-fits-all.

So… now I have no excuse.

Back to the slides.

See you at IFOS Istanbul!”
