Ianalumab and the Changing Landscape of ITP Treatment – ITP Support Association

ITP Support Association shared a post on LinkedIn:

“We asked Tung Le at Imperial College Hammersmith Hospital what Novartis have been working on. The answer: Ianalumab, studied across four trials between 2023 and 2025, each looking at a different stage of ITP:

  • First-line – newly diagnosed patients, started within 28 days of diagnosis
  • Second-line – patients who hadn’t responded to first-line therapy
  • Refractory – patients who’d already been through multiple lines of treatment

Recruitment for these particular trials has now closed, but patients who took part are still being followed up, some for two to three years so far, helping researchers understand the longer-term picture.

Research like this is how new treatment options eventually make their way to patients. Curious what’s currently recruiting?

We keep an up-to-date list on our website.”
