Jane Olivier: The Power of Point-of-Care Ultrasound
Jane Olivier, Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Centre Medical de Taolagnaro, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Knowledge is power to save lives.
Learning deep vein thrombosis (DVT) ultrasound skills from Dr Darren Cuthbert, co-founder of Emergency Project Jersey USA who donated a Butterfly Ultrasound to our clinic in Fort Dauphin.
14 years ago Ultrasound machines were expensive and training was scarce.
2026 we can connect the Ultrasound probe to our personal mobile devices and undertake Point Of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) at our patients besides…in Madagascar!
Thank you Emergency Project for your time, energy and passion to share your knowledge and resources to improve our diagnostics and standard of care.
Ultrasound knowledge is power to save lives.”
