Julie Taylor: Navigating Tech Glitches to Deliver Engaging BBTS Presentation
Julie Taylor, Trainee Clinical Scientist at Public Services Delivery Scotland, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Presenting at the British Blood Transfusion Society Conference at the SEC Glasgow was a huge milestone for me as my first experience of public speaking.
I was definitely nervous and a few technical issues along the way certainly didn’t help, but I managed to adapt and keep going.
Thankfully, the interactive parts of the presentation got the audience involved, sparked a few laughs and helped me settle into it.
I was also incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement from my colleagues and fellow speakers.
A real highlight was receiving a shout-out from Jill Storry, a world expert in Immunohaematology, who said she enjoyed my talk.
That feedback, along with the many positive comments I received, made me feel much more positive about the whole experience.
