Kathleen Bogart: Did You Know May Is Fanconi Anemia Awareness Month?
Kathleen Bogart, Professor of Psychology at Oregon State University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Did you know May is Fanconi Anemia Awareness Month?
I hadn’t heard of FA until a few years ago. All that changed when the Fanconi Cancer Foundation reached out to me hoping I could help. I have since become deeply involved in a community most people haven’t heard of.
When I learned a psychology graduate student with FA had already done research on young adults with her condition, but she passed away before publishing, I immediately felt a kinship.
As someone who became a researcher because of a lack of research on my own rare condition, I felt a strong connection to this work.
In honor of FA Month, here is my post about this research journey.”
