Maia Meier: Women with Bleeding Disorders Reach the Summit of Mont Blanc
Maia Meier, Clinical Exercise Physiologist at Maia Letitia Fitness, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Mont Blanc Summit.
Yesterday, I stood on the highest peak in Western Europe.
Standing on the summit was an incredibly proud and emotional moment for me personally, but I knew this climb represented something much bigger than myself.
I carried with me letters from women around the world living with bleeding disorders – women who have spent years fighting to be heard, understood, diagnosed, and treated.
Their words reached the summit with me.
This climb is dedicated to every woman still searching for a diagnosis, still advocating for herself, and still waiting for the care she deserves.
Mont Blanc is the first expedition of Project Elevate Her, a global initiative using the Seven Summits to raise awareness, accelerate earlier diagnosis, and improve quality of life for women and girls with bleeding disorders worldwide.
One mountain down.
All funds raised go directly our partner organizations working to improve care and outcomes for women and girls with bleeding disorders worldwide.
Thank you for being part of this climb.
This is only the beginning”
