Michael Braun: The Work Is Not Finished in Sickle Cell Disease

Michael Braun, U.S. Specialty Care President at Pfizer,  shared a post on LinkedIn:

Sickle cell disease affects millions of people worldwide — and still carries the weight of inequity. For too many, the journey is defined not just by pain and crises, but by delayed diagnoses, limited access to specialized care, and treatment options that haven’t kept pace with the urgency.

On World Sickle Cell Day, I’m thinking about a community that has been asked to wait too long for progress — and what it means to truly show up for them.

For our team at Pfizer, that means continuing to advance our research and education in sickle cell disease, supporting scholarships, helping nonprofit organizations in their mission to ease the burden of travel to care, and listening closely to the people most affected.

Progress is possible, and it’s also necessary. Our work isn’t finished.

To everyone living with sickle cell, caring for someone who is, or fighting for change in this community:

We see you.”
