Deep Vein Thrombosis Risk in Jobs with Prolonged Sitting – NBCA

National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) shared a post on X:

”Jobs that require long periods of sitting-like truck driving-can increase the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot that often forms in the leg due to long hours of sitting, dehydration, irregular sleep, other health factors. Signs of a clot can include leg swelling, calf pain, warmth, redness, shortness of breath, chest pain, or feeling faint.

Stopping to walk, stretching, and staying hydrated can help reduce risk.”
