Scott McLean: Fewer Bleeds Do Not Always Mean a Better Life in Bleeding Disorders
Scott McLean, Former Corporate Partner and Major Donor Fundraiser at The Haemophilia Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I had the honor of attending the World Federation of Haemophilia Congress in Kuala Lumpur, where I shared my story about the impact of newer treatments on managing bleeds and living with a bleeding disorder.
While these advancements have greatly improved my life, I emphasized that fewer bleeds don’t automatically translate to a better life.
The congress was a powerful reminder of my privilege in accessing quality care.
Sessions covered the latest treatment advancements and the need for more support for marginalized patient groups.
Meeting old friends and making new ones in the community was definitely one of the most rewarding parts of my experience.”
