Shadi Tabibian: Where Laboratory Precision Meets Clinical Care
Shadi Tabibian, Deputy of research at Blood Diseases Research Centers in Iran University of Medical Sciences, shared Iranian Comprehensive Hemophilia Care Center’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
”Proud to lead a team where precision in laboratory medicine is translated into better diagnosis, better clinical decisions, and ultimately better care for patients with bleeding and thrombotic disorders.”
Iranian Comprehensive Hemophilia Care Center shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Sometimes, the difference between a correct diagnosis and a wrong one lies simply in the accuracy of a laboratory test.
The Specialized Thrombosis and Hemostasis Laboratory at the Iranian Comprehensive Hemophilia Care Center is one of the Center’s specialized units, where bleeding disorders, coagulation abnormalities, and thrombotic conditions are evaluated using specialized laboratory testing and step-by-step interpretation.
In this field, performing a single test is not enough.
Many coagulation assays are highly sensitive to pre-analytical and analytical factors, including sampling conditions, the type of collection tube, the correct blood-to-citrate ratio, transport time, turnaround time before testing, sample quality, and the way results are interpreted.
Any error in these مراحل may lead either to a true disorder being missed or, conversely, to an inaccurate result being interpreted as disease.
In this section, a broad range of specialized investigations is performed, including PT and aPTT, coagulation factor assays, inhibitor studies, specialized von Willebrand disease testing, fibrinogen, protein C and protein S, antithrombin, and other advanced hemostasis evaluations.
This laboratory is not limited to patients visiting the Center in person.
Patient samples from different parts of the country are also sent to the Center for specialized testing.
After evaluation of sample acceptance criteria, the testing process and expert interpretation are carried out accordingly.
Our goal is not merely to report a number; our goal is to provide an accurate and reliable result that can support the correct diagnosis and appropriate clinical decision-making.
