Simon Fletcher: The Unique Challenges PwH Face During Their Gene Therapy Journey
Simon Fletcher, Research Assistant at University of Oxford, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In July I’m going to be in Paris at the ISTH 2026 congress sharing a novel psychosocial care framework for people undergoing gene therapy
for haemophilia.
After five years of research and clinical observation, the Exigency framework has been developed to address the unique challenges PwH face during their gene therapy journey.
What it will cover:
- Pre-treatment assessment
- Post-treatment monitoring
- Multidisciplinary care coordination strategies
- Patient support and education
