Srikanth R.: Don’t Ignore Your Health While Chasing Success
Srikanth R., Cluster Manager at Zee Learn Ltd, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Over the last few months, I learned one of the most important lessons of my life.
For many years, I always placed work and career growth above everything else, often ignoring my health. I believed that hard work and dedication were enough. However, life had a different lesson for me.
A few months ago, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism secondary to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). It was a life-changing moment that made me realize how important health truly is. No matter how ambitious we are or how focused we are on our careers, our health remains the foundation on which everything else is built.
This experience has taught me that success is meaningful only when we are physically and mentally well enough to enjoy it. Taking care of ourselves is not a distraction from our professional goals—it is what enables us to achieve them.
I would like to sincerely thank all my managers, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers who stood by me during this difficult phase. Your support, understanding, and encouragement have given me strength when I needed it the most.
A very special thank you to my family. Through every hospital visit, every difficult day, and every uncertain moment, they stood beside me with unwavering love, care, and support. Their strength gave me the courage to keep fighting and stay positive throughout this journey. I will always be grateful for everything they have done for me.
My recovery is still ongoing, and it has been a long and challenging journey. While I continue to focus on healing, I remain optimistic and determined to recover completely and come back stronger.
If there is one message I would like to leave with everyone, it is this:
Please don’t ignore your health while chasing success. Prioritize regular check-ups, listen to your body, and make your well-being a priority. Career growth, targets, and achievements are important, but good health is what makes everything possible.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. Looking forward to a full recovery and a stronger comeback.”
