Stephen Cornelissen Honors the Life-Saving Impact of Blood Donation on World Cancer Day
Stephen Cornelissen, CEO of Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, shared on LinkedIn:
”On World Cancer Day, I’m reminded that behind every diagnosis is a person and a story shaped by resilience, fear, hope, and the people who stand beside them.
Blood cancer patients are the largest users of donated blood in Australia.
More than a third of all whole blood donations support cancer treatment, helping patients stay strong enough to undergo chemotherapy and other intensive therapies.
These donations don’t treat the cancer itself, but they make treatment possible.
It highlights the vital role Australian Red Cross Lifeblood donors play in supporting patients through treatment.”
