Suvro Sankha Datta: Reporting Auto-Anti-Jk Antibodies in Children with Hematological Disorders
Suvro Sankha Datta, Senior Consultant and Head Transfusion Medicine at Tata Medical Center, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:
“Auto-anti-Jk antibodies are extremely rare in nature and can pose significant diagnostic uncertainty.
In this series, we report the presence of auto-anti-Jk in three pediatric cases with hematological disorders.
Blood group genotyping seems to be a useful way to distinguish auto- versus allo-anti-Jk antibodies.
Long-term follow-up data was used to determine the clinical behaviour of auto-Jk antibodies.”
