Tagreed Alkaltham: Unsafe Behavior Is a Patient Safety Risk

Tagreed Alkaltham, Transfusion Medicine Lab Supervisor at KSMC, shared a post on LinkedIn։

Unsafe Behavior Is a Patient Safety Risk

In high pressure clinical environments, how we communicate matters as much as what we do.

When urgency turns into shouting, threats, or blame, the impact does not stop at staff stress it reaches patient safety.

Excessive pressure on blood bank teams during critical processes increases the risk of confusion, incomplete checks, and preventable errors.

Patient safety is not protected by fear or escalation.
It is protected by professionalism, clear boundaries, and mutual respect.

Leadership is not about tolerating harmful behavior.
It is about protecting staff and patients through respectful, safe communication.

Leadership is about stopping unsafe behavior before it puts patients at risk.”
