Thomas Schinecker: A New Era for Health Innovation – Inside the Roche Genentech Innovation Center
Thomas Schinecker, CEO at Roche Group, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When I arrived in Boston yesterday, I took a moment to look around.
Harvard Business School is right across the street. The i-lab and the Science and Engineering Complex are just minutes away.
Not long ago, this was an industrial rail yard. Today, it is a place for science, engineering and entrepreneurship.
That says a lot about why we opened the Roche Genentech Innovation Center here.
Our focus is on cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases.
These diseases do not exist in isolation.
So if we want to make a real difference, we cannot look at obesity, the heart or the kidney separately.
We have to understand how these diseases are connected. And to do that, we have to connect the science as well.
That is what the new center is meant to do: bring discovery, research, clinical development, AI and data science together, in one of the world’s strongest life sciences ecosystems.
