Venous Thromboembolism (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), is a leading cause of preventable hospital death worldwide.
Despite clear clinical guidelines, implementation of VTE prevention protocols can vary widely across institutions.
Understanding where we stand is the first step to improving patient safety.
