Cameron Cook: How Cost-Effective Is Evolocumab for Patients at High Cardiovascular Risk?
Cameron Cook, Senior HEOR Health Economist, Olpasiran HEOR Global Product Lead at Amgen, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in medRxiv, adding:
”Pleased to share a new preprint I co-authored, now available on medRxiv:
‘Cost-effectiveness of Evolocumab in Patients at High Cardiovascular Risk Without a Previous Myocardial Infarction or Stroke’
Using a Markov state health-economic model informed by cardiovascular outcomes evidence, the study projected improved cardiovascular outcomes and quality-adjusted survival with evolocumab added to standard therapy, and at the direct-to-patient price, remained cost-effective (significantly below AHH/ACC thresholds) across the base case and all scenario analyses evaluated.
Grateful to all fellow co-authors for the collaboration.
This manuscript is a preprint and has not yet undergone peer review.”
