Christian Heiss: Paclitaxel Efficacy in Dialysis-Dependent PAD

Christian Heiss, Associate Head of Medical School (Research and Innovation) at the University of Surrey, Professor and NHS Consultant in Interventional Cardiovascular Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Chen‐Yu Huang et al., published in JAHA, adding:

“Another interesting paper I came across during weekly journal watch….

This new JAHA paper on paclitaxel efficacy in dialysis-dependent peripheral artery disease is a timely reminder that device performance and treatment benefit need to be understood in the patients we actually treat, not only in lower-risk trial populations.

For PAD, especially in CLTI, the key question is increasingly not simply which device works? — but which device works for which phenotype, with what balance of limb benefit, reintervention risk and survival?”
