Gregg W. Stone: OCT-Guided PCI Reduces Stent Thrombosis in Patients With Diabetes
Gregg W. Stone, Interventional Cardiologist, Director of Academic Affairs for Mount Sinai Heart Health System, Professor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, adding:
“Our work from ILUMIEV IV in diabetic points with and without complex lesions published in JACC Interventions, a particularly hazardous combination with poor outcomes after PCI.
OCT-guided PCI reduced stent thrombosis across all groups and showed a possible reduction in serious MACE, but it did not significantly reduce target-vessel failure.”
