Michelle Sámano Sánchez: Exploring Vitamin C as an Adjunct Therapy for Anemia in Hemodialysis

Michelle Sámano Sánchez, Internal Medicine Resident, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Clinical Kidney Journal, adding:

“Another milestone in my research journey! I’m excited to share that our latest article has been published in Clinical Kidney Journal.

‘Ascorbic acid as an adjunct therapy for anemia in erythropoietin-treated hemodialysis patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.’

In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we evaluated the available evidence on the use of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as an adjunct to erythropoietin therapy in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis, exploring its effects on hematologic and iron-related outcomes.

It was a privilege to collaborate with such an outstanding international team of researchers.

Every publication represents months of collaboration, learning, perseverance, and a shared commitment to advancing medical knowledge.

I’m truly grateful to continue contributing to science and to the generation of evidence that can help improve patient care and inspire future research.”
