Post-DVT functional recovery remains underexplored, particularly regarding walking capacity and venous claudication, key determinants of long-term quality of life.
In this prospective study of 73 patients, both pain-free and maximal walking distances improved by 3 months post-DVT, yet ~30% experienced persistent venous claudication, linked to suprainguinal thrombosis, obesity, and hypertension.
While overall QoL improved, residual venous claudication significantly impaired recovery, underscoring the need for targeted rehabilitation and early vascular assessment in high-risk patients.
