Thrombin Generation Assays to Assess COC-Associated Procoagulant Alterations

”Combined oral contraception (COC) alters hemostasis in ways standard labs may underestimate.
Thrombin generation assays with anti-PS and anti–TFPI antibodies revealed a marked reduction in anticoagulant activity after just 3 months of COC use.”
