Heghine Khachatryan: From Limited Options to Transformative Care in Hemophilia
Heghine Khachatryan, Editor-in-Chief of Hemostasis Today, Head of Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, shared World Federation of Hemophilia‘s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“Times have changed.
Not long ago, a diagnosis of hemophilia often meant uncertainty — no medicines, no options, no clear path forward.
Today, we are in a fundamentally different era.
We have effective replacement therapies, innovative treatments, and preventive strategies — and most importantly, we have hope.
But this is not only a story of scientific progress.
It is a story of people — patients, families, clinicians, and systems that have worked relentlessly to reach this point.
We must recognize how fortunate many patients are today to have access to life-changing care.
At the same time, our responsibility is clear: these advances must become accessible to all, not just a few.
We are deeply grateful to the World Federation of Hemophilia and to the Ministry of Health of Armenia for their continued support and commitment to improving care for patients with bleeding disorders.
From no options – to real, transformative care.
The journey continues.”
World Federation of Hemophilia shared a post on LinkedIn:
“‘When my son was diagnosed, there were no medicines, no options, and no clear way to help him.’
In Armenia, families remember a time when bleeding episodes were treated with limited and primitive methods, and access to proper care was out of reach.
Today, that reality has changed.
With support from the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program and a strong national association, people with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders now have access to trained doctors, appropriate treatment, and care that offers real hope for the future.”
