“Every year World Sickle Cell Day is being observed on June 19th and this time it was observed by Hematology Department, AIIMS Bhubaneswar recently. All aspects of Sickle Cell Disease were discussed.
This year the theme was to ensure global equity in management of sickle cell disease.
We discussed managing pregnancy, it’s complications in sickle cell disease and precautions for a sickle cell disease patient while undergoing surgery.
Finally there was an interesting quiz for postgraduate students.”
