Patrick Ellsworth: Supporting Patients and Families Through Bleeding Disorders Awareness and Community Initiatives
Patrick Ellsworth, Hematologist and Associate Professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I know I rarely post, but if you’re in the area, come to the 2026 Raleigh Family Festival & Walk for Bleeding Disorders! If you can’t make it, consider donating to the UNC TarHealers in the link below. This money helps our patients with bleeding disorders in the state, fulfilling the mission of the Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina (BDFNC).
Money raised helps supports patients and their families, emergency financial assistance, education, and more. As you can see on the website, last year alone, BDFNC held 40 education and community building events, distributed over 500 medical IDs, provided $28,450 in scholarships, and more than 850 gas cards to help people get to their medical appointments.”
