In Kenya, more than 120 mothers die for every 100,000 live births — deaths that are entirely preventable. No woman should lose her life while giving life.
To end preventable maternal deaths, we must act with urgency:
Equip and train every midwife, nurse, and doctor to detect and respond swiftly to Postpartum Haemorrhage (PPH).
Guarantee safe blood is available whenever and wherever emergencies strike.
Deliver compassionate, family-centered care that uplifts both mothers and fathers.
Strengthen health systems and enforce accountability so that no mother is left behind.
This is not just a health challenge — it is a moral obligation.
Ending preventable maternal deaths is possible. But it will only happen if we stand together and act now.
