CAR T Therapy Is Becoming More Decentralized and Patient Centered – City of Hope

“The delivery of cell therapies is evolving faster than many realize.
CAR T and other cellular treatments are expected to become more decentralized in 2026, with care shifting into outpatient clinics and select home-based settings.
This transition, supported by remote monitoring and digital health, has the potential to significantly reduce hospital stays, lower overall costs and expand access to complex cancer therapies.
Eileen Smith, M.D., the Francis and Kathleen McNamara Distinguished Chair and Professor, Department of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, outlines how City of Hope‘s model, developing cell therapies on site and delivering care beyond inpatient settings, is helping set a new national standard for patient-centered treatment.”
