Hind El Azzazi: Successful Defense of My Medical Doctorate on Antiphospholipid Syndrome in Men

Hind El Azzazi, Medical Intern at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Morocco, shared a post on LinkedIn:

03.18.2026, officially EL Azzazi Hina, M.D.

I am honored to announce the successful defense of my medical doctorate thesis entitled: ‘Clinical, Biological, and Prognostic Features of Antiphospholipid Syndrome in Men: A Case Series and Narrative Review of the Literature’

This thesis represents the culmination of years of dedication and marks a pivotal moment in my medical journey.

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) remains a fascinating condition due to its complexity and multisystemic nature. Exploring its unique characteristics in the male population has deepened my understanding of thrombotic mechanisms and the intricate interplay between autoimmunity and cardiovascular risk factors, particularly the relationship with atherosclerosis in elderly patients, which sparked engaging discussions during the defense.

Working on this thesis has ignited a genuine passion for autoimmune diseases. The complexity of these conditions, their diagnostic challenges, and the evolving therapeutic landscape have captivated my interest and inspired me to explore it further in my future medical career.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to:

Pr. Youssef Sekkach, my thesis director, for his exceptional mentorship, scientific rigor, and unwavering trust throughout this journey

Dr. Oumama Jamal, for her invaluable guidance, constant availability, and tremendous support every step of the way

The distinguished jury members for their insightful feedback and stimulating discussions: Hicham Harmouche, Ahmed Bourezza, Najat Mouine, and Naoual EL Omri

My dear parents and family, whose unconditional love, sacrifices, and endless encouragement have been the foundation of everything I have achieved. This accomplishment is as much yours as it is mine. Thank you for believing in me every single day

This milestone marks not only the completion of a long scientific endeavor but also the beginning of a new chapter, one driven by curiosity, humility, and a renewed commitment to medicine and research.

To all those who accompanied me on this journey, friends, mentors, and family alike, your presence, patience, and unwavering belief have meant everything.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Hind El Azzazi
