Julie Cardoso: Post-Thrombotic Syndrome – The Hidden Impact of DVT
Julie Cardoso, Owner and Executive Director of Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility at Universal Ultrasound Diagnostics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Post-Thrombotic Syndrome: The Hidden Impact of DVT
March is DVT Awareness Month, and while we often focus on acute events, the long-term impact matters too.
Up to 50 percent of DVT patients develop Post-Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) a chronic condition caused by vein damage and increased venous pressure.
Symptoms can include:
- Leg pain, heaviness, and fatigue
- Swelling that worsens with standing
- Skin changes and in severe cases
- Venous ulcers
The takeaway: Early diagnosis and streamlined care pathways are critical to preventing lifelong complications.
Join us at Universal U on April 25 to learn how we can improve outcomes and elevate patient care.”
