“I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Maganti BSV Prasad and team, whose unwavering commitment has transformed the lives of thousands of individuals living with hemophilia, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, von Willebrand disease, and other inherited blood disorders.
As the driving force behind the Hemophilia Society, Vijayawada Chapter – Eluru, Dr. Prasad has built far more than a patient support organization – he has created a legacy of compassionate care, early diagnosis, quality diagnostics, patient education, genetic counselling, physiotherapy, psychosocial support, and community empowerment that has touched three generations of patients and families.
What inspired me even more was the Society’s commitment to nurturing future leaders. Under Dr. Prasad’s guidance, the organization has mentored and inspired:
- 1 MD Radiologist
- 4 MBBS students
- 3 IIT graduates
- 3 PhD scholars
- 2 Chartered Accountants
- 3 NIT graduates
- 2 IIIT graduates
- 100 and more IT professionals
- 30 and more professionals serving in Government Services
This extraordinary contribution demonstrates that patient organizations can create an impact far beyond healthcare – empowering individuals, building careers, and inspiring generations of professionals committed to giving back to society.
The Hemophilia Society, Vijayawada Chapter, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Eluru District Branch, is a remarkable example of how vision, partnerships, and selfless leadership can improve access to comprehensive care while creating lasting social impact.
