Shamee Shastry: When Every Cell Reacts – The Hunt for Rare Blood
Shamee Shastry, Professor, Kasturba Medical College, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“When Every Cell Reacts: The Hunt for Rare Blood:
Our latest Case shows why rare donor registries matter.
India’s rare donor registry will only be as strong as the network behind it; No single centre can do this alone
At the Centre of Excellence in Immunohematology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, we are looking forward to collaborating with blood centres, reference labs, researchers, industry partners and funders to:
- Screen regular donors for rare phenotypes
- Share expertise in serology and molecular typing
- Build access to rare reagents and antisera
- Connect rare donors with the patients who need them and RBC cryopreservation facilities”
