Harriet Allan’s Latest JTH Paper Links Platelet Mitochondria to Immune Cell Reprogramming
Harriet Allan, Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, posted on LinkedIn:
”Very happy to share our latest paper in Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH), looking at mitochondrial release from platelets. In this study we show that platelet extracellular vesicles containing mitochondria cause metabolic reprogramming of neutrophils, enhancing their activation and promoting the formation of NETs.”
