S1PR4 Controls Platelet Fibrinogen Binding and Thrombus Formation – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Janik Riese et al, adding:
”Sphingosine-1-phosphate regulates platelet fibrinogen binding via sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor type 4
S1P signaling through S1PR4 acts as a negative regulator of fibrinogen binding in activated platelets, with S1PR4 deficiency leading to excessive clot formation and increased risk of disseminated intravascular coagulation in sepsis models.”
