Simona Sacco Shares Expert Guidance for Clinicians on Minor Ischemic Stroke

Simona Sacco, Full Professor at the University of L’Aquila, shared on LinkedIn:

”Acute Treatment of Disabling and Nondisabling Minor Ischemic Stroke: Expert Guidance for Clinicians

This paper stems from a very practical need: until now, there was no single, comprehensive, and easily accessible document to help clinicians navigate the management of minor ischemic stroke across the different clinical scenarios encountered in everyday practice.

Minor stroke accounts for the majority of acute ischemic events.

Yet, if not promptly recognized and appropriately treated, it may evolve into a “major” stroke, with a substantial clinical impact on patients’ outcomes.

The document deliberately takes a pragmatic, scenario-based approach, with the aim of supporting bedside decision-making in the real-world, often complex situations we face daily in acute stroke care.

My sincere thanks go to all colleagues who contributed to this work—especially our international partners, among the leading experts in this field—who generously shared their expertise and experience.

I hope this guidance will prove to be a useful tool for clinicians and help promote more informed and appropriate acute management of minor ischemic stroke.”
