Haroun Gajraj Thanks Enric Roche for Demonstrating the Piston Effect

Haroun Gajraj, Phlebologist and Board Member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists, reposted from Enric Roche, on LinkedIn:

“Thank you, Enric Roche, MD, PhD, for a very nice demonstration of the piston effect in foam sclerotherapy.”

Quoting Enric Roche’s post:

“This is what we call the piston effect in foam sclerotherapy. The foam uniformly displaces the blood, maintaining its structure and promoting contact between the sclerosant and the endothelium. To optimise this effect in all concentrations and drugs is always an advantage to get better outcomes. This behaviour occurs with dry foams due to their greater stability.
This is a 0.2% Polidocanol foam.”
