Ahsan Syed: How a Tiny Part of Your DNA Makes You Different From Everyone Else
Ahsan Syed, Director of Finverse Hub, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Did you know that a tiny part of your DNA makes you different from everyone else?
For males, over 95 percent of the Y chromosome is special and does not match the X chromosome.
This unique region, called MSY, holds the code for many male traits, including fertility and development.
Science also shows that while people of the same sex are almost totally alike genetically, small changes set each person apart.
Genes mix in a very special way during reproduction.
Chromosomes from each parent swap bits of information and give every child a one of a kind genetic blueprint.
This process is called recombination, and it helps us all become individuals while keeping harmful traits balanced out.
It also helps humans keep changing and growing stronger over generations.
If you feel like no one can truly understand you, remember there is science behind your uniqueness.
Celebrate the details that make you or your child one of a kind.
Embracing your special genes is a first step to feeling good about who you are.
Be proud, and share your story.
Tips:
Talk with your kids about family traits.
Embrace the qualities that set you apart.
Stay curious and keep learning about genetics, because knowledge can lead to pride and confidence.”
