Early Diagnosis Can Change the Lives of Women With Haemophilia – EHC
European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) shared a post on LinkedIn:
” ‘Women don’t just carry haemophilia. They bleed.’ — Prof Yesim Dargaud (Lyon University Hospital, CRH French Reference Center for Hemophilia Lyon, France)
For every man diagnosed with haemophilia, there are often two female relatives who may also have the condition — yet remain undiagnosed, unmanaged, and unseen. Heavy menstrual bleeding, joint damage, anaemia. Symptoms minimised for too long.
Prof Dargaud calls on all healthcare professionals to support early diagnosis. Because awareness enables diagnosis, diagnosis enables care, and care changes lives.
This is one of the expert voices EHC is sharing as part of Project Elevate Her, a global initiative using the Seven Summits to raise awareness of women with bleeding disorders.
This June, Maia Meier climbs Mont Blanc as the first expedition on this journey because a diagnosis changes everything.
