Martine Gilard։ Women’s Heart Health as a National Priority
Martine Gilard, Professor of Cardiology, Full Member of the Académie Nationale de Médecine and Editorial Board Member at PCRonline, shared a post on LinkedIn:
‘You’ve seen your gyneco! and your cardio?
This clip from the Cardio-Vascular Research Foundation alerts on the importance of cardiology follow-up in women.
While cardiovascular disease is the second leading cause of death among women in France, it paradoxically remains invisible in collective representations and insufficiently taken care of by caregivers.
That’s why the Fondation Cœur et Recherche is launching an awareness-raising clip entitled ‘You saw your gyneco! and your cardio?’, soon to be broadcast on television.
Produced with the participation of 31 women and men, among them are Marie-Christine Barrault, Elsa Wolinski, Gwendoline Hamon, Maitena Biraben, Sophie Iborra, Adèle Royné, Sandrine Arcizet as well as several renowned specialists: Stéphane Manzo-Silberman, Ariel Cohen, cardiologists; Patrick Rozenberg, gynecologist; and Laure Geisler, general practitioner.
In collaboration with the SFC – Société Française de Cardiologie, this clip is a clear call: it’s time to change the mindset, act sooner, and consider women’s heart health as a national priority. The future of man is indeed woman!
Faced with the extent of cardiovascular disease in women and the lack of available information, an exceptional and large-scale operation is being carried out simultaneously.
The campaign of the Heart and Research Foundation, through the clip designed for wide distribution to the general public, aims at raising awareness and encouraging women to demand a cardiovascular check-up. A clip made thanks to the commitment of people from civil society.
An extraordinary action carried out by the CNPCV, aimed at raising awareness among all health professionals about cardiovascular diseases in women, thanks to an information sheet specially designed for them.
