Megan Adediran: Heavy Period as a Sign of a Underlying Bleeding Disorder

Megan Adediran, Executive Director of the Haemophilia Foundation of Nigeria, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Heavy bleeding is often dismissed as ‘normal’ for women and girls.

But when periods are so heavy that they disrupt daily life, cause severe anemia, or lead to repeated hospital visits, it may be a sign of an underlying bleeding disorder.

Women and girls bleed too.

And their symptoms deserve to be taken seriously.

It’s time to ask better questions, seek proper diagnosis, and break the silence around bleeding disorders in women.”
