Shahad Yahya: Hands-On Experience in Transfusion Medicine In King’s College Hospital Dubai
Shahad Yahya, Peer Tutor and Biomedical Sciences Student at Gulf Medical University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Grateful for the opportunity to complete my posting at King’s College Hospital, Dubai in the Blood Bank Department.
During this rotation, I gained hands-on experience in blood grouping using gel card methods, cross-matching procedures, and the Indirect Coombs Test for antibody screening.
I also deepened my understanding of blood component management, safe transfusion practices, and the identification and management of transfusion reactions.
This experience strengthened my appreciation for the critical role of transfusion medicine in patient care.”
