Thomas Reiser Steps Down as ISTH Executive Director After 14+ Years of Leadership
Thomas Reiser, Executive Director of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), reposted from ISTH on LinkedIn:
”After more than 14 incredible years with the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), I have made the decision to step down as Executive Director at the end of this year.
Reflecting on this journey, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve such a remarkable organization and its vital global mission that I believe in so passionately.
Together with an extraordinary team, a caring and deeply committed Board and volunteers, and an inspiring global community, I am immensely proud of the impact we have achieved, the global collaborations we have fostered, and the impactful initiatives we have advanced that truly make a difference in people’s lives.
What has made this role most meaningful are the relationships with members, colleagues, partners, and peers around the world that have shaped me as a person and enabled both my own and our collective success.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.
As I look ahead beyond the end of this year, I’m taking some time for rest and reflection and also to prepare for my next chapter.
I look forward to pursuing new opportunities where I will continue to be able to bring my global experience, knowledge, connections, and perspectives to create purposeful impact.
Here’s to new beginnings – with deep gratitude for the past 14+ years, and great anticipation for all that lies ahead.
Watch this space.”
Quoting International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH)‘s post:
”The ISTH announces that Thomas Reiser will step down from his position as Executive Director, following a commendable 14-year period of leadership at the Society.
As part of a carefully planned transition, the ISTH Council appoints Louise St. Germain, ISTH Director of Membership, Marketing and External Relations, to the role of Interim Executive Director effective on January 1, 2026.
As the search for a permanent Executive Director commences, the ISTH looks forward to the opportunities ahead and to the Society continuing to evolve, innovate and strengthen its impact for the benefit of the global thrombosis and hemostasis community.
