Asif Dogar Shares A Pictorial Review of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis
Asif Dogar, Neuroradiologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, shared on LinkedIn:
”Just hot off the press: our article, “Pictorial Review of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis with Emphasis on Diagnostic Clues and Radiological Pattern ,” published in Neurographics, Journal of American Society of Neuroardiology, featuring more than 90 images.”
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is an uncommon but potentially fatal condition caused by thrombosis of the cerebral veins and venous sinuses, often presenting with varied and nonspecific clinical and imaging features.
This pictorial review highlights key diagnostic clues by systematically describing direct and indirect radiologic signs of CVT across multiple imaging modalities.
It also emphasizes common complications and important imaging mimics that can lead to diagnostic pitfalls.
By increasing awareness of these patterns, the article aims to support timely diagnosis and improve clinical outcomes.
