Dominique P. Germain: The Critical Role of Cardiac Involvement in Fabry Disease
Dominique P. Germain, Professor at University of Versailles, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article published in NPJ Cardiovascular Health, co-authored by him and his colleagues, adding:
“I’m pleased to share our recent review, ‘Cardiac manifestations of Fabry disease,’ published in NPJ Cardiovascular Health (Nature Portfolio).
This collaborative work with colleagues from Hong Kong and Canada highlights an important message for the Fabry community: cardiac involvement is common, often under-recognized, and remains a major driver of outcomes in Fabry disease.
The review summarizes current understanding of Fabry cardiomyopathy, key diagnostic tools such as genetics, echocardiographic strain imaging and cardiac MRI, and the evolving therapeutic landscape.
We hope this open-access article will be useful for colleagues involved in rare diseases, cardiology, internal medicine, and for everyone working to improve earlier recognition and care for patients living with Fabry disease.
My sincere thanks to all co-authors for this valuable international collaboration.”
