Amna Ahmed: A Step Closer to Solving Bleeding Disorders of Unknown Cause

Amna Ahmed, PhD Student at the University of Birmingham/Synapse Research Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I had a great time in Sheffield at the UK NEQAS for Blood Coagulation 2026 Clinic and Laboratory Haemostasis Conference.

It was an amazing opportunity to present my poster on Bleeding Disorders of Unknown Cause (BDUC) and characterising patients based on specialised tests such as Thrombin Generation, Plasmin Generation and ATP Release assays.

The clinical focus of the event allowed for enriching conversations on the future clinical implications for this patient group, and how studies like mine are a step forward in the right direction.

Special thank you to the organisers and sponsors, and especially to Stago for allowing us to raise money for Thrombosis UK while practicing our lab skills!”
