Don Deyo: Breakthrough Therapy for Post-Stroke Upper Limb Impairment Now Published
Don Deyo, Executive Chair at Reach Neuro, Inc., shared on LinkedIn about a recent article by Roberto M. de Freitas et al, published in Nature Medicine, adding:
”I am excited to share that the clinical research underlying Reach Neuro‘s breakthrough therapy for post-stroke upper limb impairment has been published in Nature Medicine.
For stroke survivors, the loss of arm and hand function can have a profound impact on independence and quality of life.
This study demonstrates that targeted spinal cord stimulation can significantly improve arm strength, mobility, and dexterity, even years after a stroke.
This publication represents an important milestone in the journey to bring a transformative therapy to the millions of people living with chronic stroke-related disability.
It is a testament to the vision, dedication, and scientific excellence of the researchers, clinicians, engineers, and study participants who made this work possible.
As Executive Chairman of Reach Neuro, I am honored to work alongside such an exceptional team as we advance this technology toward broader clinical application.
My congratulations and gratitude go to Dr. Marco Capogrosso, Dr. Peter Gerszten, Dr. Douglas Weber, Dr. Elvira Pirondini, their collaborators, and the study participants whose commitment made this achievement possible.
